Lindsay Clancy, The Duxbury Woman Who Killed Her Children

Lindsay Clancy (born in 1990) is a 33-year-old Labor & Delivery RN at Massachusetts General Hospital. On January 25, she became a topic of headlines after it came out that she strangled her kids and committed a suicide attempt. Of the three, the elder kids, Cora (5) and Dawson (3) were pronounced dead the same day, but the infant Callan died a couple of days later.

According to sources, we learned that on the night of the 25th, Patrick Clancy reached home and saw his kids in an unconscious state; without wasting any time, he called emergency services, and a few minutes later, first responders arrived at the scene. Lindsay was found lying on the ground outside the home, injured, and in serious condition.

Soon the mother and kids were moved to a local hospital. Doctors did their best but could not save the kids; the lady is said to be out of danger. Sources claim that Lindsay attempted suicide by jumping out of the window after first strangling her children. Authorities are accusing her of numerous crimes, including assault and murder charges.

Why Lindsay Clancy Killed Her Kids?

According to the NY Post, Lindsay has postpartum psychosis, a rare but fatal mental illness that can appear after childbirth. Some of its symptoms include delusions, hallucinations, and irritable behavior. A woman’s ability to care for herself and her child may be severely hampered by these symptoms, which can emerge quickly, sometimes just hours or days after delivery.

Pat recently addressed his wife’s “illness” in a statement but did not identify which sickness she was battling; thus, it appears that he was aware of Lindsay’s mental suffering.

Due to the heart-wrenching tragedy, residents of Duxbury came together to light candles and prayed for Pat and his family’s recovery. The first responders were present at the vigil as well because it was upsetting for them as well to witness such little children suffering.

They were ecstatic to begin their relationship, and after the birth of their daughter, Cora, in January 2017, their joy only grew. Two years later, in 2019, their son, Dawson, took birth; he was a healthy baby and highly adorable, just like his elder sister.
